NOTE: The early arrival date is the 10th of March.
It isn’t possible to conduct an FMCA International Convention and RV Expo without a lot of volunteers. The Eastern Area is hosting the Convention and providing Early Security. The Carolina Pelicans and the Diesel RV Club are seeking volunteers to staff all of the security positions needed during the FMCA International Convention.
Here are the details:
– Security volunteer positions include working at outside gates to the area where the new coaches will be displayed as well as the exhibit buildings and other areas as needed.
– All people are provided with individual assignment sheets and instructions. Note that, in general, all positions are sitting positions so volunteers should plan on taking their own chair and, if an outside position is assigned, plan for any unusual weather situations.
– Each volunteer needs to submit: Name(s), F#, email address, contact phone number (cell), and the time of day that will work best (e.g., morning, mid-day, or afternoon) for a phone interview.
– Volunteers must plan to arrive on March 10 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. There is no camping fee for the early arrival nights or other perks in addition to the training at a few seminars covering security issues and procedures.

The Security Gathering is expected to be held 2 days prior to the start of the FMCA International Convention in Perry, GA at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter which begins on March 13, 2019. Club members wanting to join us for the convention and a few shifts of security may come in two days early beginning March 11.
If you are interested please register for the FMCA convention and check off Volunteer and Security on your registration form. Check the FMCA registration form for details and pricing.
Security volunteers normally are parked together in the same area. This requires arriving the holding area at a designated time. These details will be provided once a volunteer commitment is received. The extra nights on the 10th - 12th are part of the FMCA cost if you are a security volunteer. We will get to park together if we come in together. More information to follow in the coming months.
